Starstruck

Last night was almost nothing until I got invited to dinner.

Everything seemed fine until at that moment I was eating porkless fried rice, eggplant and ginko beans. No, the food was not inedible. It was just that it dawned on me:  I was actually having this meal with a constellation of goddesses from Philippine showbusiness!

To an actress’ daughter I murmured: I am sorry I just could not help myself. I think I had a celebrity overload.

By this comment I meant only one thing: people I saw in reel I was dining with for real. And they were real. Not larger than life but real.

Endless chatter here and there about diet, their children and how to use french hair accessories. Worries about varicose veins, the insidious love handles and someone named “Remedios”.

Unexpectedly, I relished the fact that they are people too who breathe, eat and have needs.

Yun lang, baka inilalagay ko na sila sa pedestal.

Note:

I never intend to have my pictures taken with them. Honestly. The experience itself was enough.

But I do not regret having some taken though. Since they insisted. :-D
